Semrock manufactures advanced optical filters for biotech and analytical instrumentation. Semrock has three product platforms: performance optical filters for fluorescence instrumentation & microscopy, Raman instrumentation, and biomedical laser systems. Semrock sells its products through its direct sales force, an extensive network of distributors and resellers, and on-line catalogs. Semrock's products are built upon its own advanced optical coating and filter technology, originally developed for the telecom industry. Sophisticated high-bandwidth telecom applications drove the demand for exacting filters that exceeded the ability of the then-conventional coating technology. By successfully adapting these modern advances to the biotech field, and adding additional tailored innovations, Semrock has been able to set a new standard of optical performance. Semrock filters are brighter, more durable, and spectrally more sophisticated than conventional technology, and are manufactured with greater repeatability, thus driving significant customer improvements such as faster measurement times, reduced downtime, repeatable manufacturing, and lower optical component count.
